Tea From Home

I’m growing soil

in my garden

from teabags made in
the land of my birth
five airplane hours away.
I toss the bags
label and all
into the garden
from my front porch
sometimes the string
and labels
get caught on branches
waving and disintegrating
in the air
like prayer flags.
